Book distribution in Hawaii
As the main book distributor for half the year at ISKCON Honolulu, I daily experience the joy of giving the greatest gift: vidya-dana, the gift of knowledge in the form of Srila Prabhupada's books. The whole world comes to Hawaii to enjoy, and people finally do when they receive one of our beautiful, Krsna conscious books. I teach and write as well--in Hawaii and Mayapur--but there's nothing quite like meeting people in the bhava-sindhu, the ocean of birth and death, and lighting up their faces with the lifeline of Prabhupada's books.
Since 2007, Dulal Chandra & Arci Prabhus have been helping the Honolulu temple pay for some of the special books we sell at the temple store. But they really hit a home run last year when they sponsored many cases of Gitas and whole sets of Bhagavatams and Caitanya-caritamrtas for the new library at the Mayapur Academy, a school for training and developing the brahminical community in ISKCON all over the world. Charity begins at home. I encourage all devotees of means to come forward to help the devotees flood the world with Srila Prabhupada and Lord Caitanya's matchless gifts of love and light. As dark karma continues to ravage our beleaguered planet, I can imagine no greater fortune for anyone--the donor, the distributor, or the gifted. Hare Krishna!
