Book distribution in Dallas and surrounding areas

Yesterday, Ratna Radhika and myself went to Subzi Mandi, an Indian grocery store in Garland, Texas. The owners have kindly invited us to set up book tables outside their store. We displayed Quest for Enlightenment, Perfection of Yoga, Teachings of Queen Kunti, Bhagavad Gita, Adiraja's cookbook as well as 2 small sets of Gaura Nitai Deities from Krsna Culture. Many people stopped by to check out the books despite the very high temperature of 107 F.~!

One gentleman held a 'Quest for Enlightenment' book that contains published articles by Srila Prabhupada from his Back to Godhead magazine. On the back cover is a quote from Lord Brahma: "Who am I?", "Where have I come from?" "What should I do?"...from Srimad Bhagavatam. The man said emphatically, "I know who I am!!!". I asked him if he knew who is was in his last life and he said "No". I asked him to please take the book as Srila Prabhupada is helping us to understand who we really are.

The last time we went to this store a few weeks ago, a young Indian girl, getting her Masters degree in Computer Science, came out on book distribution with us. She met one gentleman who told her, "I met the guru of Hare Krishna even before he was famous." The man had listened to Srila Prabhupada's class given at the pandal in Oval Maidan in Bombay in 1970.

The wonderful aspect of book distribution is that it is our "Family Business", owned and run by our Founder-Acharya, A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada. He asked us to read and distribute his books knowing this to be the highest service to mankind...to give Krsna consciousness to others.
