Hare Krishna. My name is Mahabharata Das. I live in Atlanta, Georgia and I am connected with the New Panihati Dham devotee community. I took initiation from H.H. Bhakti Tirtha Swami in 2005 at Gita Nagari.

Immediately after I took initiation, I sent an email to my Guru Maharaj as to what I could do to please him. He told me, "be strict with yourself and merciful to others." I have decided to make this personal instruction the mission of my life in the service of my Guru, Srila Prabhupada, and the vaisnavas.

I feel that the best way that I can be merciful to others is by giving them Krishna Consciousness in the form of Srila Prabhupada's books. When I am on book distribution, even if sometimes the results are not so great, I still enjoy the sweet interactions that I have with the conditioned souls on a daily basis. Here, in Atlanta, we go out on harinama/book distribution as a community once a week and on the first Saturday of every month. I also go out on book distribution on my own almost daily to various spots like the local colleges (University of Georgia, Georgia State, Emory University, Clayton State, Georgia Tech), downtown Atlanta, concerts, and Little Five Points ( a very nice alternative young people hang out place similar to Greenwich Village in New York). I pray and hope that I can be engaged in distributing Srila Prabhupada's books till the end of my life.
